Gems Treats Employees To Morale Boost
Staff at cleaning products supplier, Sheffield’s Gems Hygiene, are shaking off the winter blues with renewed vigour, thanks to words of wisdom from a popular motivational speaker.
Gems’ boss, Dave Campbell, invited a group of employees to a talk by adventurer and corporate speaker, Miles Hilton-Barber, to help them reach their full career potential.
The Gems delegation, which comprised representatives from all departments of the firm, visited Sunderland University to attend an event organised by the Chartered Management Institute, at which Mr Hilton-Barber was the guest speaker.
Mr Hilton-Barber has overcome the challenges he faced when he went blind in his early twenties to complete a long list of gruelling physical challenges. He works as an inspirational speaker to motivate others to take risks, work together and follow their dreams.
Dave Campbell said: “I am a big fan of Miles Hilton-Barber and despite having heard him speak on several occasions I still find his life story hugely inspirational. I believe that someone as focused as Miles cannot fail to have an impact on other people and that by taking key individuals to listen to his experiences, they will return to work with renewed energy and an enthusiasm for life that will impact positively not only on their own career, but also on Gems’ performance as a whole.”
Gems is committed to the personal development of its entire team and runs regular in-house training sessions to enhance the performance of its workforce, as well as supporting individual efforts to gain new skills and qualifications.
