Gems Staff Add Sparkle To Half Marathon
Two staff from cleaning products specialist, Sheffield’s Gems Hygiene, are hoping to “wipe the floor” with the competition at the city’s half marathon this weekend.
Gems employees, Margaret Oldale and Paul Campbell, will be among the 5,500 runners taking part in the 13-mile Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday (April 26).
This will be the sixth Sheffield Half Marathon for Gems’ customer services manager, Margaret, who has previously dedicated her efforts to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. This year, she is determined to beat her fastest time of one hour 50 minutes, despite having to reduce her training due to increased work commitments.
Sales manager, Paul Campbell is new to half marathon running, but decided to take up the challenge, after completing last year’s 10k Bupa Great Yorkshire Run and more recently Sheffield’s Weston Park 5k.
Gems’ managing director, Dave Campbell, said: “Margaret and Paul have both shown impressive determination and dedication in their training for the half marathon. We are delighted that they will be representing Gems in this key event in the city’s sporting calendar and the rest of our team will be supporting them all the way.”
Sheffield Half Marathon starts at 9.30am on Sunday at Don Valley Stadium, which is based near Gems’ headquarters in the Attercliffe area of the city.
